Khordha: A man died of electrocution while another sustained critical injury in Khordha district of Odisha on Wednesday. The incident took place in the premises of the Sorana Panchayat under Chilika Block.
The deceased labourer has been identified as 18 year old Rasananda Muduli of Muduli Sahi of Sorana and the critical youth is 19 year old Taru Khan of the Muslim sahi.
As per reports, today morning the two above persons were working to fix the asbestos shed in the premises of Sorana panchayat. At that time a GI (Galvanized Iron) pipe came in contact with a live electric wire. Accordingly, one of them died and the other sustained critical injury.
Following the incident, the villagers staged a protest after keeping the body of the deceased in front of the Panchayat office. They demanded to arrest the Sarpanch and PEO of the panchayat. They also demanded compensation for the family of the deceased and victim. They also demanded free treatment to the injured.
