Low pressure: Odisha SRC issues warning for coastal districts

Following the warning of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regarding a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) of the Odisha government, Satyabrata Sahoo, on Monday alerted the collectors of seven districts about the same.

Bhubaneswar: Following the warning of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regarding a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) of the Odisha government, Satyabrata Sahoo, on Monday alerted the collectors of seven districts about the same.

In his letter to the collectors of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda and Ganjam, the SRC asked them to advise the fishermen not to venture into the sea from November 15 onwards and they must return to the shore.

Likewise, the Fisheries and ARD department have been asked to ensure the communication of warning/ alert messages to fishermen.

The low-pressure area is likely to cause rainfall in several parts of the State.
