Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police has detained more than 30 suspects for loot in puja mandaps of Bhubaneswar, said reports on Monday.

According to reports, in the looting incidents from various puja mandaps in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha. The police have detained all 30 of them on suspicion of looting.

All the alleged accused persons have been detained in Khandagiri, Mancheswar, Lakshmi Sagar, Nayapalli and Sahid nagar police stations.

It has been reported that a gang of women robbers has been detained in Khandagiri police station. According to police sources, a lot of stolen goods have been seized from them. Yesterday, during the Mahastami Puja, they took advantage of the huge crowd and committed the loot.

The police posted in the mandaps and the workers arrested eight people in Bomikhal Durga puja mandap ground alone. It is worth mentioning that robbers looted 10 gold chains in 15 minutes from Bomikhal Puja mandap. Chains, mobiles and wallets were stolen from as many as 30 people in the capital and suburbs yesterday.
