Jeypore: A lady cop turned Good Samaritan during the Phase III polling in Koraput district of Odisha. She went beyond her Police duty and helped out physically challenged voters so that they could cast their votes easily. She was seen carrying some physically disabled citizens to the booth.
Police Constable Smita Majhi received applause in lieu of her noble work that she executed during the phase III Odisha Panchayat Polls. She had been deployed in the Hikimput booth under Nandapur block in Koraput district for election duty.
As the lady constable found some voters were facing difficulty to reach the booth, she carried them right up to the booth. After these people finished casting their vote, she again carried them back from where she had picked.
Smita Majhi has been highly praised for her work as a Good Samaritan by the locals.
