All Odisha Biju Patnaik Gold Cup Football TournamentBhubaneswar: The city-based Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) beat Junior Mangala Club 2-0 in the inaugural match of the 11th Biju Pattnaik Gold Cup U-16 Boys Football Tournament at Unit-6 High School Ground here on Saturday.

Two first half goals by Sonaram Soren (eighth) and Ramachandra Majhi (45th) helped KISS register the win over Junior Mangala Club. Soren was awarded with the Man of The Match award.

Odisha Sports Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera inaugurated the tournament hosted by Unit-6 Athletic Association.

Behera inaugurated the football tournament in the presence of MLA Padmanabha Behera, Tata Steel Chief Residential Executive Manikant Nayak, Football Association of Odisha (FAO) Secretary Sanjay Behera, Joint Secretary Avijit Paul, Vice-President Bhakta Ballav Das and other dignitaries.

As like every year, the selected players from the championship will get training at Tata Football Academy in Jharkhand.
