Kerala flood: Odisha urges Kerala govt to provide support to 130 stranded Odias

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Friday urged Kerala government to make necessary arrangement to provide support to 130 stranded Odias.

On its twitter handle, the Special Relief Commissioner of Odisha government informed that SRC Bishnupada Sethi wrote to the Additional Chief Secretary of Kerala after receiving a SoS message from one Anil Sethi (Mob-9439091481).

Sethi informed that 130 people from Odisha have taken shelter in a house at Aluva Munnar Road, Odapally, Near Asha Munnar Post Office after being affected by the flood.

He also requested the Kerala government to make necessary arrangement in terms of food, drinking water and other necessities.

Notably, 324 people have been reportedly killed in the worst flood which Kerala witnessed in last 100 years. More than 3 lakh people have been sheltered in about 1500 relief camps while more than 2 lakh people have become homeless.

Officials from Army, Navy, Air Force and NDRF have been engaged in the rescue operation.
