Jharsuguda Accident: CM announces ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh for each cop’s family
Bhubaneswar: After expressing his condolence on the death of two police officials in a road accident in Belpahar of Jharsuguda district today, CM Naveen Patnaik has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to their families.
Apart from the announcement of the ex-gratia the CM also assured that all medical expenses of the cops who sustained injury in the crash will be borne by the State Government.
Earlier, CM had wished for a speedy recovery of the injured policemen also, who were on their way to an event scheduled to be attended by him latter in the day in Jharsuguda and met with the fatal crash.
Notably, the police van which was carrying jawans of OSAP was hit by a speeding truck on NH-49 near Belpahar this morning. While two jawans died on the spot 30 others were hurt and rushed to various hospital. Later, 11 of them were shifted to VIMSAR in Burla due to critical conditions.
