Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s winning the Outlook Speakout ‘Best Administrator’ Award has clearly not gone down well with Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan with the latter questioning the former’s administrative ability and asking him to prove it.
“Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik must prove himself in action that he is the Best Administrator. Can he implement 7th Pay commission by this evening for the sake of the employees at the state secretariat who greeted him on winning the award?,” asked Dharmendra while speaking to the reporters.
BJD, on the other hand, acclaimed that the Union Minister is jealous of Naveen’s ability, which has been appreciated by everyone in the country and for which he got the award.
“Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik got the award because he truly deserved it. He got the award not for his words but for his action that has been noticed by people across the country. He polled more votes than his five other contenders,” said BJD spokesperson Amar Satpathy terming Dharmendra’s statement as ‘politically motivated’.
“The state government is waiting for the report of the fitment committee for the implementation of the 7th pay commission in Odisha,” he added.
Cuttack-Barabati MLA Debasis Samantray backed Satpathy saying, “Dharmendra cannot digest the acceptance of Naveen Patnaik at the national level. He is jealous of the success of Odisha as the award does not belong to the BJD supremo alone but to the entire state.”
