Heavy to very heavy rainfall warning issued for 5 days in Odisha, check details

The people have been advised to take shelter during the thunderstorm activity to project from lightning and follow traffic advisories in urban areas.

Bhubaneswar: The city-based regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued heavy to very heavy rainfall warning for different parts of Odisha.

The heavy to very heavy rainfall warning has been issued for five days. The people have been advised to take shelter during the thunderstorm activity to project from lightning and follow traffic advisories in urban areas.

Here’s the Heavy to very heavy rainfall warning for five days:

DAY-I: Valid up to 8.30 AM of July 7:

  • Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Sundargarh and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Malkangiri and Koraput.

DAY 2: Valid from 8.30 AM of July 7 to 8.30 AM of July 8:

  • Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

DAY 3: Valid from 8.30 AM of July 8 to 8.30 AM of July 9:

  • Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

DAY-4: Valid from 8.30 AM of July 9 to 8.30 AM of July 10:

  • Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Keonthar and Mayurbhanj.

DAY-5: Valid from 8.30 AM of July 10 to 8.30 AM of July 11:

  • Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.
