Heavy to very heavy rain in Odisha is expected on December 5, the MeT has issued an orange alert in this regard.
Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rain in Odisha is expected on December 5, the MeT has issued an orange alert in this regard. Rain in Odisha is expected to start from December 3 and to increase in intensity by December 5. Heavy rain in Odisha shall occur on December 5.
December 3, 2023- Light to moderate rain and or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapti, Ganjam at one or two places over the rest districts of coastal Odisha, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
December 4, 2023- Light to moderate rain and or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapti, Ganjam, Puri, at a few places
over the districts of, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be updated)
Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
December 5, 2023- Light to moderate rain and or thundershowers very likely to occur at most places over the districts of South coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal,
Nabarangpur and at many places over the rest districts of south interior Odisha, north
coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of north interior Odisha.
Orange warning (Be Prepared)
Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
Yellow Warning (Be updated)
Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Puri.
It is further worth mentioning that, in view of possible heavy rain due to the impending cyclonic storm, by order of the Principal Secretary, leave of all field officials of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam has been canceled from December 2 to December 6.
They shall be on duty on Sunday and be on high alert throughout, read the notice issued in this regard on Saturday by the Principal Secretary to the Government of Odisha.
