Heavy rains to continue in Odisha till July 22, Yellow warning issued to 6 districts

The heaviest rainfall is expected on July 21, with rains ranging from 7 cm to 20 cm in some areas. Odisha rainfall to continue till July 22.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Monsoon is likely to become increasingly active in the state with the formation of a cyclonic storm in the North-Western side of the Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. The formation of a low pressure and the cyclonic storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall to the state, beginning from tomorrow.

Heavy rains are to continue in Odisha till July 22. The effect of rain is less today. However, from tomorrow onwards, the intensity of the rains will escalate. The IMD has issued a yellow warning to six districts in Southern Odisha. Various coastal and interior parts of Odisha are likely to expect heavy to very heavy rainfall on July 20.

With heavy rains likely to continue in the state, the heaviest downpour is expected on July 21, with rainfall ranging from 7 cm to 20 cm in some areas.

So far, Odisha has experienced a rainfall deficit this year. This monsoon season, the average rainfall has been recorded at 20 percent less than the expected average rainfall.
