Heavy rain in Odisha today, Yellow warning issued to 10 districts

The intensity of rainfall in Odisha is likely to decrease from today. 10 districts of the state have been issued a yellow alert for today.

Bhubaneswar: Monsoon season is currently active in Odisha. Central regions of the state and the regions adjoining Chhattisgarh continue to experience heavy rainfall due to the active cyclonic circulation.

Several areas across the state are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall today. The regional meteorological department has issued a yellow warning to 10 districts in view of heavy rainfall today. These districts include Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Cuttack, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jhasuguda, and Bargarh.

Further, the intensity of rain in Odisha is likely to increase from September 12. The month of August recorded a scarcity in rainfall. The total rainfall in state falls about 12 percent less than the expected total rainfall.
