Heat in Odisha to increase from today with rise in daily temperature

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to witness significant change in weather from today. After three days of continuous rainfall, temperature in Odisha is to increase from today. Today, several parts of the state witnessed dense fog in the early morning hours.

Due to the rainfall, key cities of Odisha experienced lowest ever maximum temperature in past 71 years in the month of March on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar recorded daily maximum temperature at 19.2 degree Celsius. It is noteworthy mentioning that back on March 6, 1970, the lowest daily maximum temperature in Bhubaneswar was recorded at 24 degree Celsius.

Temperature was recorded around 10 degrees below normal in most areas across coastal Odisha. Meanwhile, weather in the state is likely to change significantly from today. Odisha was under the influence of Kalbaisakhi for the first three days. Heat in Odisha is set to rise from today. The day time temperature in the state will rise by eight to ten degree Celsius. By 23rd of March, the temperature will increase in most parts of the state.

The regional meteorological department in Odisha has predicted that the day time temperature and heat in most parts of Odisha will rise beyond 39 degree Celsius by March 24.
