Rourkela: A girl student hung herself to death in her hostel room in Ispat General Hospital (IGH) over failed love affair yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as Sunayana Dekaraj (27) of Gouhati in Assam.
Sunayana, who was pursuing her Pathology course in the IGH and residing in the Vizag Hostel didn’t open the doors of his room for long last afternoon following which the other inmates smelled rat. Later, the suicide of the girl was came to light after the Sector-7 and Sector-19 police reached the spot getting an intimation from the college authorities and broke opened the door.
A suicide note was also found by the side of the deceased, in which she cited the cause of her death as failed love, said police.
However, the authenticity of the suicide note could be vouched for only after an investigation and autopsy of the body, maintained police.
