Extreme cold in Mayurbhanj at 1 degree Celsius, 6 places record temperatures below 10

Odisha is now experiencing cold wave-like conditions. There has been extreme cold in Mayurbhanj district at 1 degree Celsius, said reports.

Karanjia: Odisha is now experiencing cold wave-like conditions. There has been extreme cold in Mayurbhanj district at 1 degree Celsius, said reports. Due to the extremely low temperatures, Karanjia has experienced a thin sleet of snow.

Various places in Mayurbhanj have experienced dense fog and extreme cold. The roads in most parts of the district were deserted during early morning and late evening. Today the lowest temperature in Mayurbhanj has been recorded at 1 degree Celsius.

According to reports, people were seen hurdling around bonfires to save themselves from the cold. Due to the dense fog in the district, it was hard to drive on the roads.

It is further worth mentioning that as many as six places in Odisha have recorded temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. Here are the cities that have recorded temperatures below 10 degrees: 

Korai recorded 8.3 degrees, G.Udaigiri recorded 8.4 degrees, Phulbani recorded 8.5 degrees, in Koraput it was 9.5 degrees, in Ranital the temperature was 9.6 degrees and Rourkela recorded 9.8 degrees.
