Ex-Superintendent of Odisha Warehousing Corporation convicted in DA case, gets rigorous imprisonment

The Special Judge of vigilance in Balangir today convicted ex-Superintendent (Retired) of Odisha Warehousing Corporation at Malmunda in Balangir district, in a Disproportionate Asset case and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year.

Balangir: The Special Judge of vigilance in Balangir today convicted ex-Superintendent (Retired) of Odisha Warehousing Corporation at Malmunda in Balangir district, in a Disproportionate Asset case and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2,00,000 on him and in default of payment of the fine, he would undergo  further rigorous imprisonment for two months more.

It is to be noted here that Behera was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case vide  Special Judge, Vigilance Bolangir TR No.104/2007 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for possession of disproportionate assets.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Behera following his conviction.
