Ensure availability of NAT at all blood banks by March 2025: Orissa High Court to Odisha govt

The Orissa High Court today directed the State government to ensure availability of the Nucleic acid amplification test (NAT) at all blood banks of the State by March 2025.

Cuttack: In a significant development regarding blood services in Odisha, the Orissa High Court today directed the State government to ensure availability of the Nucleic acid amplification test (NAT) at all blood banks of the State by March 2025.

According to reports, advocate Prabir Das had filed a petition in the High Court seeking availability of the NAT at all blood banks of the State.

While conducting a hearing in the matter, the court asked the Odisha government to take steps to facilitate the Nucleic acid amplification test at all blood banks.

Sources said that currently, only 11 blood banks of the State have the NAT facility while the government will now ensure to begin it in other 45 blood banks by March 2025.
