Elephant dies due to injuries in Odisha’s Tangi
In a heartbreaking incident reported from Odisha's Tangi, an ailing elephant succumbed to its injuries on Tuesday night.
Tangi: In a heartbreaking incident reported from Tangi, an ailing elephant died due to severe injuries on Tuesday night. The elephant lived in the dense forest of Hariharpur within the Rangapur range of Khordha Forest Division.
Earlier on Monday, officials from the forest department tranquilised the elephant. A special team comprising of personnel from Nandankanan and OUAT in Bhubaneswar had been called in for the treatment of the elephant.
Officials from Ranpur forest division had set up a camp in Hariharpur forest to track the movements of the elephant. Reportedly, the front leg of the elephant was infected due to a deep wound. Despite all efforts, the elephant succumbed to its injuries on Tuesday.
