Elephant attack in Sundergarh of Odisha, 2 killed

Sundergarh: In a tragic incident, an elephant attack in Sundergarh district of Odisha on Tuesday, said reliable reports. According to reports, the two deceased have been identified as Hiralal Behera of Gardbahal village, Sundergarh Badgaon Block and Melinidhi Singh of Nageswar village, Kamakshanagar Mahabirod Range, Gadpalashuni Panchayat.

Hiralal of Gardbahal village was trampled by an elephant when he went to protect the field. A herd of 30 elephants have been terrorizing the area for a few days. However, the forest department is continuing its efforts to stop the elephant attack in Sundergarh. They have recovered the bodies and drive away the elephants.

Similarly, Melinidhi Singh of Nageshwar village was attacked by an elephant while he was standing outside his house late last night. He died on the spot. The local people have demanded the forest department to drive away the elephants.
