Cuttack: In a major order, the Orissa High Court has observed that the doctors should write the medical prescriptions or post-mortem reports clearly.

While hearing a petition filed by one Rasananda Bhoi of Hindol in Denkanal district on September 25, 2023, Justice SK Panigrahi observed that the doctors should not scribble the medical prescriptions or post-mortem reports rather write them clearly so that those would be legible and comprehensible for anyone.

The top court of the State also asked the Chief Secretary of Odisha to ensure that all doctors in the state should write the names of medicines clearly and in capital letters in prescriptions. They should do the same while writing the post-mortem reports.

The Chief Secretary has been asked to issue a directive to all government and private hospitals, medical colleges and clinics so that they follow the orders of the court avoid scribbling in medical prescriptions or post-mortem reports.
