Diwali 2021: Orissa High Court gives green signal for bursting green crackers

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday gave a green signal for bursting green crackers during the Diwali celebration across Odisha.

According to reports, gave permission for the sale and use of green crackers, which are approved by Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO).

The court has permitted the people of the State to burst the green crackers between 8 PM and 10 PM only.

It is to be noted here that the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) had on September 30 prohibited the sale and use of firecrackers during the Diwali celebration in view of the ongoing Covid pandemic. However, several organizations and associations including the All Odisha Fireworks Dealers Association had approached the top court of the State over the issue.

While conducting a hearing over the matter, the HC today permitted the sale and use of Green firecrackers. The Court also directed the Police and District administration officials to take action against those who use banned crackers and violate the order.
