Cyclonic storm Asani: Tangi police seizes 7 boats for venturing into Chilika Lake despite ban

Tangi: The officials of the Fishery Department and local police station seized as many as7 boats for venturing into Chilika Lake despite a ban in view of the Cyclonic storm Asani.

In view of the cyclonic storm, the Fishery Department and Tangi police had strictly alerted to not go on fishing in Chilika Lake. They also had kept a close vigil on the fishermen entering the lake.

Today, IIC of Tangi police station Kumar Muduli and Deputy Director of Fishery Department Jagadish Chandra Panda and Assistant Fishery Officer Amiya Nayak had been to Chilika from the fish hub of Kaluparaghata as part of their patrolling.

Similarly, two joint teams under the leadership of officer in-charge of Kuhudi Police outpost Prasan Jena and officials of Balugaon Fishery Department conducted a raid on the water body and seized a total of 7 boats for venturing into it by disobeying the warning.
