Cricket match umpire murder case in Cuttack, 4 arrested

In a major development in the cricket match umpire murder case in Cuttack as many as four persons have been arrested. 

Cuttack: In a major development in the cricket match umpire murder case in Cuttack as many as four persons have been arrested.

According to reports, all the four accused persons in the case have been arrested. The four persons have been identified as Smritranjan Raut, Jaga aka Sanjay Raut, Badal Kaubatal and Sanjay Raut.

The police caught the accused from different places of Cuttack. All the accused will be questioned by the police today.

It is worth mentioning that, in a shocking incident, a cricket game turned ugly in Cuttack District of Odisha as the umpire was killed on Saturday.

According to reports, in Cuttack District in Mahishalanda Panchayat under Chaudwar police limits there was a cricket match. A young man (22 years) acting as the umpire has died after being hit by a bat and a knife.

According to reports, some youths of the village were playing cricket in Mahislanda Panchayat on Sunday. During the match, there was a controversy because the young umpire declared no ball. Later the umpire identified as Lucky Raut, was first attacked with a bat and then stabbed with a knife.

Reports say that, he had deep injuries on his chest and stomach. Lucky was immediately rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack in a critical condition.

The doctor declared him brought dead. The Chaudwar police has started an investigation into the incident. There is still tension at the scene of the attack. The police raids are underway on at various places to nab the accused

A case has been registered against the four under section 302 and 34 of the IPC said the Cuttack DCP.
