COVID-19 Vaccination: Capital Hospital Cleaning Staff Gets First Jab In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A cleaning staff Biranchi Naik at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar received India’s first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine on Saturday, kicking off the world’s largest vaccination drive.

A fourth class employee took the first shot of COVID-19 Vaccine in Bhubaneswar followed by Director Capital Hospital and one Doctor.

The vaccination of the 1.92 lakh health workers and frontline COVID warriors began in 161 session sites, including six in Bhubaneswar.

Later, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will take the feedback on the ongoing drive from Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar and the district headquarters hospitals in Sundargarh and Ganjam at 12 pm.

Earlier in the morning, PM Narendra Modi launched the Covid-19 vaccination drive, saying, “never before in history has such a big vaccination drive been launched”.
