The Commissionerate police on Saturday has arrested a lady gangster form Bhubaneswar for looting people after intoxicating them.
Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police on Saturday has arrested a lady gangster form Bhubaneswar for looting people after intoxicating them.
A lady identified as Een Muskan aka Sharifa Khatoon was the mastermind of the looters gang that has been arrested. Their group was named ‘Landa’ (bald) gang.
The infamous looters ‘Landa’ of Ganjam and ‘Sana Landa’ of Nayagarh were operating under Khatoon’s command. They used to offer intoxicant laced food or cold drinks to innocent victims and loot them of their belongings.
Generally the gang used to operate near the railway station and the bus stand, said reliable reports in this matter today. Various intoxicants and chloroform has been seized from their possession.
They specifically used to target army jawans who were returning home for a vacation. The jawans were lured by the beauty and charm of Sharifa Khatoon. They used to easily agree to drink tea with her. It was then that she used to add intoxicants to their tea and then loot them.
After looting them she used to throw them in a desolated road or street near the station, said the ACP Zone-1 while addressing a press conference in Bhubaneswar earlier today.
The Commissionerate Police has arrested the lady gangster and as many as three people of the gang and are investigating further to know how many more people are involved in the gang.
It is worth mentioning here that all the four arrested persons have as many as ten complaints against them at various police stations across the state. The Commissionerate police shall request the court to declare them as fugitives.
