CM Naveen Patnaik approves Maa Budhi Thakurani temple development project at Rs 18.91 cr

Maa Budhi Thakurani Temple holds great significance not only in Odisha but also in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the development plan aimed at transforming the Maa Budhi Thakurani Temple in Berhampur under the 5T initiative of the state government.

The project will be carried out with an estimated cost of Rs 18.91 crore in two phases.

Maa Budhi Thakurani Temple holds great significance not only in Odisha but also in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, as it is dedicated to the presiding deity of Berhampur. Devotees from both regions frequent the temple daily to pay their respects to Maa Budhi Thakurani. With the convenience of devotees in mind, the state government has devised a comprehensive development plan to enhance the temple’s aesthetic appeal.

The renovation will incorporate the splendid Kalinga architecture style and feature amenities such as a Yajna Kund, a temple office building, a boundary wall, a garden, and an embellished entrance.

Furthermore, to facilitate the needs of devotees and visitors, the plan includes the construction of a hand wash point and a multi-purpose hall suitable for various functions. Other additions consist of a room for the servitors, a kitchen, and a Bhoga Mandapa.The temple will be adorned with enchanting lighting arrangements.

Additionally, improvements will be made to the approach road leading to the Budhi Thakurani Temple, including the establishment of a parking area, an auditorium, landscaping, and tree planting, all aimed at enhancing public convenience.

Worth mentioning, on the instruction of Chief Minister, 5T Secretary V.K.Pandian visited Budhi Thakurani’s temple and discussed the development of the temple with the local community, people’s representatives and district administration.
