Christmas 2023: Nandankanan Zoo and Planetarium to remain open today

Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park and Pathani Samanta Planetarium in Bhubaneswar will remain open for visitors on the occasion of Christmas today.

Usually, the zoo remains closed on Monday, however, the park authorities have decided to keep the zoo open given public demand. Moreover, it will also remain open for visitors on New year. That means the zoo will remain open on the day for the next two weeks as Christmas and New Year fall on Monday.

Visitors can purchase the entry ticket offline at the zoo or they can also book it online or through WhatsApp to avoid standing in a queue for a ticket.

According to sources, one platoon of police along with Fire Service personnel and a medical team will be deployed to keep an eye on anti-social elements and ensure visitors’ safety.

At the same time, the zoo got its first pair of Livingstone’s Turacos along with two Wallabies, which were brought after a long period of 35 years.
