Brown sugar worth Rs.11lakh seized from Balasore of Odisha
The flying squad of the Balasore district Excise department has seized brown sugar worth as much as Rs. 11 lakh on Tuesday.
Balasore: The flying squad of the Balasore district Excise department has seized brown sugar worth as much as Rs. 11 lakh on Tuesday, said reliable reports.
The estimated weight of the seized brown sugar is said to be 110 grams. The squad got a reliable tip-off relating to brown sugar smuggling on National Highway Number 16.
The tip-off said that a trade deal was underway near the over bridge. The flying squad was immediately pressed into action. They successfully arrested one smuggler.
The squad has also recovered a live bullet from the arrested person. The arrested person has been identified as Chakradhara panda, he is a labour contractor by profession said reliable sources in the Excise department.
