Bhawanipatna: At least 11 persons sustained injuries and two among them turned critical after an SUV carrying them turned turtle on NH-26 near Dangariguda last night.
The critical duo has been identified as Naveen Satpathy and Soudamini Satpathy.
The incident took place late in the night while the passengers were on their way back to Bagbahali village under Khari panchayat in Subarnapur district after picnicking at Gupteshwar in Kalahandi district. It is suspected that the driver of the vehicle dozed off at the wheel causing it to skid off the NH and turn turtle.
All the 11 persons boarding the vehicle including the driver sustained injury in the accident and were rushed to the Koksara CHC by police later in the night. Hospital authorities are making arrangements to shift two of the injured to some other hospital pertaining to their deteriorating state.
