Body of girl found in house in Odisha’s Dhenkanal dist, murder suspected

Kamakhyanagar: The body of a young girl was recovered from a locked house in Dhenkanal district of Odisha on Thursday. This has been suspected to be a case of murder.

The deceased has been identified as Laxmipriya Khuntia, from Lokanathpur village under Kamakhyanagar Police Station limits in the district.

As per reports, Laxmipriya was asleep in the house while no other family members were present yesterday night. Her mother had gone to one of their relative’s house while Laxmi and her elder sister were at home.

However, today morning when her elder sister reportedly went to awake Laxmipriya she found her dead. Later, as she alarmed people from the neighbourhood visited the house and suspected that the girl has been murdered.

It has been observed that the deceased’s eye, nose and ear was bleeding. After knowing about this Laxmipriya’s mother rushed to the house. She has claimed that her daughter has been murdered.

The door of the staircase room of the house was open. Hence, it has been suspected that somebody came from outside, murdered the girl and fled from the scene.

After getting information Police reached the spot and started investigation. Further probe of the matter is underway.
