Deogarh: Police have retrieved decomposed bodies of a woman and two minor girls from Janjhari forest near Balinali village under Barkote police limits in the district on Saturday.
As per reports, locals first spotted a body half-buried inside a pit in the forest and immediately informed the police.
Police later dug the pit and found bodies of two minor girls in the pit. Police said that they have started an investigation to ascertain the identity of the deceased.
“We strongly suspect that the trio was killed in some other place and later the bodies were buried in the forest. We are also in touch with neighbouring police stations to find out any missing complaints to get clue about the victims,” said a police official.
Police said that the bodies have been sent to the Burla Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) for further investigation.
