Bhitarakanika: The annual Bird census in Bhitarakanika of Odisha is slated to start from January 6, 2024, said reliable reports. The census will be conducted in Bhitarakanika and Rajnagar Forest Division.
The bird counting will be done from 6 am to 12 pm. A training camp will be held at Gupti on the January 5 of this year, and bird counting experts will attend the camp.
The migratory birds will be counted at Bhitaranika, Kalivanjdia, Satvaya, Rajnagar, Chinchiri confluence, Dhamra confluence and Paradip.
Rajanagar Forest Division Forest Officer Sudarshan Gopinath Jadav informed that probably this year more number of foreign birds shall be counted due to favorable weather.
