Bhubaneswar: Another step of BMC shall be taken towards cleanliness and beauty of the city of Bhubaneswar, said reports on Wednesday. Garbage shall not be found thrown in the open in the capital city of Bhubaneswar.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation will now collect fines from garbage collectors. Awareness has been raised by holding meetings with various federations across the city. The BMC vehicles will be used to collect garbage.
BMC will take strict action against littering on the roads. A fine will be levied from the shopkeeper in case they violate the rules. The BMC commissioner Vijay Amrita Kulange informed the media about the above development.
Similarly, due to the accumulation of garbage in various parts of the capital for a long time the entire area is becoming polluted, creating serious problems for traffic on the roads. All the garbage like plastic bags, bottles, etc. are accumulating on the roadsides and are deteriorating the environment of the capital city. The BMC Commissioner Vijay Amrita Kulange has warned the residents of the capital about BMC to impose fine on the accumulation of the garbage on roadsides.
It is further worth mentioning that, the BMC shall collect dry and wet waste separately and was later confirmed by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Commissioner. According to reports in case of non-segregation of waste, the BMC vehicle will not collect garbage further warned the BMC Commissioner. People have been made aware of the advantages of separation of waste.
He further informed that, the bio-methane gas plant will convert and use the wet waste to generate gas that can be used for various purposes. Hence he requested the people of Bhubaneswar to segregate the waste and dispose it off in the collection vehicle.
