Baby boy dies at Keonjhar DHH, medical negligence alleged

Keonjhar: In yet another incident of patient death over medical negligence in the state, a 7-month-old baby boy allegedly died unattended by the doctors at the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here today.

As per the information, one Seikh Nayeem Naik of Keonjhar town has rushed his critically-ill baby to the DHH late last night. But much to his dismay, the doctors who were present at the hospital put the infant under observation in the general ward without taking into account his condition.

Naik has alleged that despite continuous appeal from him the doctors didn’t attend the child for long which caused his death.

Tension ran high at the hospital after the family members of the deceased child held hospital authorities responsible for the incident and indulged in an argument with them over the issue.

On the other hand, the medical authorities rejected the allegation of medical negligence levelled against them.
