Bhubaneswar: An army major was arrested by Mahila Police in Bhubaneswar for allegedly demanding dowry.
The arrested major has been identified as Army Major Soumya Pati, who is reportedly posted in Faridabad of Haryana.
In her complaint, the major’s wife have alleged that he use to torture her over dowry and also charged him trying to murder her.
As the hearing could not be held through video conferencing, yesterday, the Judge visited the SDJM Court at 10.30 PM and announced his verdict and he was arrested.
