ADG Amitabh Thakur praises Odisha police for working very hard during Puri Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar: The Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Amitabh Thakur has praised the Odisha police team for their hard work and patience during the Puri Rath Yatra.

In a tweet, the ADG wrote, “All four in the picture worked tirelessly….with a very pleasant disposition….kudos. Arrangements: par excellence. May #Jagannatha bless them…. Jai Shree Jagannatha”

Due to the efficient strategy and foresight of the Odisha Police, this year’s world famous Rath yatra in Puri has been completed very smoothly. About 25 to 30 lakh people participated in this festival. Everything starting from law and order situation to traffic congestion, from water irrigation to fast-aid services, special volunteers were appointed by the police.

Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik has given more encouragement to the police force to act as a sign of devotion to Lord Jagannath.

Previously, crowd control in Rath Yatra was a big challenge for the standards of the state government. In fact, many devotees were killed and many injured in the rush. In the field of disaster management, Odisha was able to make its own identity as a role model in the world. The smooth completion of the Rath Yatra has also created a distinct identity for the state.

During the 12 days festival, which ended on Saturday, many VIPs from abroad came to the city, so it became a big challenge for the police to maintain law and order. Odisha police has turned this challenge into an opportunity for the police and has brought fame to the state.

Due to the good understanding and coordination among the teams, all the activities were completed within the stipulated time. Puri District Magistrate Sarkar Burma personally supervised them. Overall, this year’s announcement will be considered as a milestone in the history of the Rath yatra. Additional Director General of Police Law Sanjay Kumar,  Central Range IG Ashish Singh, DIG Akhileshwar Singh, DIG and Additional Commissioner of Police Umashankar Das, Puri District Magistrate Samarth Verma and Puri SP K Vishal Singh have also praised the police team involved in maintaining law and order during the world famous Puri Rath Yatra.
