Kendrapara: Forest officials today buried the carcass of a 52-feet long whale in the Habalikhati beach under Gahirmatha Marine Sanctury after necropsy. The whale had been recovered from the same beach yesterday.
The carcass had been spotted by some locals yesterday who called up forest officials later. After reaching the spot and conducting preliminary investigation the officials suspected it to be around 20-25 days old.
Later, a veterinary team rushed to the spot send the mammal for autopsy.
