Puri: In a shocking road mishap, at least two youths were killed after a bike carrying three slipped off the Malatipatpur over bridge in Puri district today after hitting a Hyva from rear.
The deceased have been identified as Biswajit Barik and Rudra Barik. Both are residents of Bhandaripokhari area in Bhadrak district.
As per the report, the trio had set out for a journey to the religious town in some work in the morning and the rider of the bike they were travelling on lost control over the wheels on the over bridge and hit a Hyva which was running ahead. As a result, the bike skidded off the road and plunged into a nearby field killing two on the spot.
The injured was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment by some locals soon after the incident. His condition is stated to be critical.
Police have reached the spot and seized the mangled vehicle.
