2 goods train on one railway track in Odisha, major accident averted

A tragedy was averted in Odisha today due to the presence of mind of the loco-pilot as two goods trains were found on one track. 

Rourkela: A tragedy was averted in Odisha today due to the presence of mind of the loco-pilot as two goods trains were found on one track.

According to reliable reports, two goods trains were found moving on one railway track in Sundargarh district of Cuttack.

It was due to the presence of mind of the loco-pilot that a major accident was averted, said reliable reports.

The incident has been reported from near the Basant Colony in Rourkela. Both the trains are still stuck on the line, said reports.

Detailed reports are awaited in this matter.

It is to be noted that 291 people were killed while over 1,100 others were injured following a triple train mishap at Bahanaga railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district on June 2.

The three trains which were involved in the accident are the 12864 Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, 12841 Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, and a goods train.
