1 dead in firing in Cuttack; Police probe begins

Cuttack: One died in bullet firing in Odisha’s Cuttack Town today. The incident occurred in Subhadrapur area under Cuttack town police limits. The deceased has been identified as Chintamani.

According to sources, a miscreant opened fire in the area, following which Chintamani got shot on his head. Due to grievous bullet injury he died on the spot. Meanwhile, the person who fired at Chintamani managed to flee from the spot.

After receiving information, Cuttack town police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for autopsy. The cops have also initiated a probe into the matter. However, the reason behind the firing and the man involved in it are yet to be ascertained.
