Uttarakhand tunnel rescue: 41 rescued workers have been airlifted to AIIMS in Rishikesh for complete check-ups via IAF aircraft.

Uttarkashi: After the success of the Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue operation, it has been reported that all the 41 workers who were trapped, are in good physical and mental health. Notably, after being rescued, they were admitted to a nearby Community health centre.

As per the latest update, the rescued workers have been airlifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh for complete check-ups. They were flown to the medical via Indian Air Force’s transport aircraft Chinook. Reportedly, specialists at AIIMS would check if the workers suffered any trauma, infections, or internal injuries during the 17 days.

 The rescue mission for the 41 trapped workers in the Uttrakhand tunnel collapse incident was successfully completed on Tuesday evening. The true heroes of this rescue operation was the team of 12 rat-hole miners. The team manually fug through 800 metres into the debris in the final stage of the Uttarakhand tunnel rescue operation. After which, a steel pipe was inserted to complete the rescue passage.

The workers who were trapped inside a collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand were successfully rescued. A total of five stranded workers were rescued in the first phase. To facilitate the rescue operation, ambulances were taken inside the tunnel, ready to provide immediate medical assistance to the rescued workers.
