Union Education Ministry launches Make AI in India and Make AI work for India proposal, check details

In pursuance of the Budget Announcement 2023-24, the Government approved the setting up of 3 Centres of Excellence (CoEs) for Artificial Intelligence in the sectors of Agriculture, Health and Sustainable Cities.

New Delhi: In pursuance of the Budget Announcement 2023-24, the Government approved the setting up of 3 Centres of Excellence (CoEs) for Artificial Intelligence in the sectors of Agriculture, Health and Sustainable Cities.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has invited proposals from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) (having an NIRF ranking within the top 100 in the Overall category for the year 2023) for selection of 15 consortiums with an initial funding of Rs 2 Crore each.

Each of these lead HEIs will function as the hub, which will be provided with an opportunity to present a Proof of Concept (POC) to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in any of the three sectors: Agriculture, Health & Sustainable Cities.

Expectations:

  • Special purpose vehicle for setting up three state-of-the art Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence in the thrust area.
  • Capacity building for solving bigger problems at scale relevant to our country in Agriculture, Healthcare and for Stainable Cities.
  • Proof of Concept (POC) driven proposals leading to stepping stones for independent and self-sustainable centre creating a positive impact on the lives of our citizens.

  • Submission deadline: December 31
