Hyderabad: Anumula Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister-elect of Telangana from the Congress party, is poised to take the oath of office in a grand ceremony today at Hyderabad’s LB Stadium. This marks a historic moment as Revanth Reddy will be the first Congress Chief Minister in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for 1:04 pm, is expected to draw a massive crowd of around one lakh people. State Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari and DGP Ravi Gupta have overseen preparations, ensuring that the event unfolds smoothly.

Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) Chairperson Sonial Gandhi and party leader Rahul Gandhi are anticipated to grace the occasion with their presence, adding to the significance of the event.

Revanth Reddy, emphasizing the people-centric approach of his administration, extended an open invitation to the public to participate in the ceremony. He expressed his commitment to providing democratic and transparent governance.

Media reports suggest that Congress MLA-elect and former CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka may assume the role of deputy chief minister.

CPI General Secretary D Raja, representing the Congress’s pre-poll ally, is expected to attend the ceremony, as confirmed by CPI MLA-elect Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar are also likely attendees, with Shivakumar having played a role as an AICC observer in coordinating the CLP meeting in Hyderabad.

Security measures, including traffic arrangements, have been put in place to minimize public inconvenience. VVIPs arriving at the event will land at either Rajiv Gandhi International Airport or Begumpet Airport, with security arrangements tailored to their arrivals.

The Congress emerged victorious in the recent Assembly polls, securing 64 out of 119 seats, defeating the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS). With the mantle of leadership officially passed on by the AICC, Revanth Reddy is set to assume office, ushering in a new era for Telangana.
