Over 40 school students injured in bee attack in Agra

Agra: At least 40 school students were injured after being attacked by bee in the Bah region of Agra district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Reportedly, six students have been hospitalised following the bee attack.

According to reports, a beehive on a tree near the school suddenly collapse. This led the bees getting triggered and attacked the unsuspecting children off-guard.

The school staffs present at the scene immediately evacuated the affected area, but not before numerous students and faculty members fell victim to the bee stings.

Following the incident, parents of the injured children gathered outside the school premises, alleging negligence by the administration and its failure to ensure student safety. However, the principal of the school defended the administration and said that the beehive was located outside the premises, making the attack seem very unlikely.

The six students, who were admitted to the hospital were later shifted to S.N. Medical College as their condition deteriorated.

In a similar instance, as many as 14 people were attacked in wild bee attack in Kharinera village of Mohana Block in Odisha’s Gajapati district.
