India sees slight dip in Covid-19 infections, 28 deaths

The active cases now comprise 0.15% of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.67 %

New-Delhi: India on Friday sees slight drop in Covid-19 infections with 11,692 cases in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the Union Health ministry.

The death toll, the highest in the last seven months has reached 5,31,258 with 28 new fatalities. According to the health ministry, the fatality rate stands at 1.19 per cent. The highest number of deaths was recorded in Uttar Pradesh, followed by Maharashtra, Haryana, and Delhi.

While the daily positivity rate at 5.09 percent. The weekly positivity rate is 5.33 percent currently.

The active cases now comprise 0.15 per cent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.67 per cent, the ministry said.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,42,72,256. According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
