6 killed, 10 injured after truck rams into wedding procession in Madhya Pradesh

Raisen: At least six were killed, while ten others were injured after a truck rammed into a marriage procession in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh.

According to official reports, the procession was going to Khamaria village in the district on Monday evening when the truck rammed into the procession. Following the incident, four people died on the spot, while two others succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, the truck driver fled from the spot following the accident. After receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and took the injured to the nearby hospital. The cops have also initiated a probe into the matter.

While speaking to media agency ANI, District Collector Arvind Kumar Dubey said that injured have been rushed to Bhopal AIIMS and are undergoing treatment.

“A total of 6 people have died, while 10 people are seriously injured and are undergoing treatment. The truck driver is absconding after the accident. The search is on. The truck is registered in Rajasthan. It was coming from Bhopal,” the Collector said to ANI.

Further detailed reports related to the matter are awaited.

Earlier, as many as ten people were charred to death in a bus accident in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. It is worth mentioning here that the bus was carrying 38 passengers to a wedding ceremony.

It is worth mentioning that the bus caught fire after coming in contact with an 11 kv overhead wire. The wedding procession was coming from Mau in Mardah police station area.
