2 men arrested for lighting bonfire on Delhi-bound moving train

Two men have been arrested for lighting a bonfire to beat cold in a Delhi-bound Sampark Kranti Superfast Express train.

Aligarh: Two men have been arrested for lighting a bonfire to beat cold in a Delhi-bound Sampark Kranti Superfast Express. Reportedly, a gateman saw smoke coming out of a compartment of the moving train.

The incident occurred on January 3 when the gateman posted at a railway crossing near Barhan railway station observed a flash of light and smoke from a coach of the train. He immediately informed the officials at the Barhan railway station. Following this an RPF team arranged for the train to be stopped at the next station Chamraula.

After getting into the train, the team found that some men had lit a bonfire inside a general coach with dung cakes to get relief from the extreme cold conditions.

The immediately doused the flames in order to divert any major damage and detained 16 person. Two people identified as Chandan and Devendra has been arrested while other 14 co-passengers, who had joined them later, were released with a warning.
