Cuttack: The man who selflessly helps out patients at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack is none other than Gopal sir. By profession Gopal Das from Niali area of Cuttack is a police officer. As such he is a respected personality as a cop. Yet, people respect him more than that for his noble deed. Yes, any patient, who reaches SCB Medical College and Hospital, the renowned ‘Bada Medical’ in Cuttack, he searches for Gopal sir. Because, once Gopal sir comes to his help, the patient is likely to avail the best treatment.

However, Gopal sir himself is not in favour of any propaganda for his noble work. Rather, he only focuses on his social work. Whether a patient got the deserving doctor or not, whether he got a bed or not, everything becomes easy, once Gopal sir comes to the aid of any patients. And of course, this noble work by this police official is selfless. He does not want anything in return. Yet, patients and their relatives, who get help from this gentleman, don’t forget to bless him or pray the God to bless Gopal sir.

After getting information about Gopal sir and his noble deed, our Kalinga TV Digital team wanted to highlight his noble deeds that he renders at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. However, he initially denied to come up for a reaction. However, we insisted convincing him that he is doing a noble work and by publishing about him, more number of patients can get his support. In other words, he would get a larger opportunity to serve more number of patients which will provide him more satisfaction. And then only Gopal sir agreed to tell about him and his noble work. Hats off to this gentleman for his noble work.

Generally, at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, which provides treatment to a large number of patients from every corner of Odisha, it is difficult to get ample facilities. However, if you have any acquaintance here, things become a little bit easy. Therefore, in such a place, if a Good Samaritan like Gopal sir comes to you, he seems like a messenger of God to you.

It is said the patients and their relatives who come to SCB medical college and hospital for treatment are all praise for this man for this kind gesture.

Kalinga TV Digital team found Gopal sir at SCB Medical when he was in action at a rush hour of the day a few days back. We observed that he was shifting patients on the stretcher, he was as if running to the blood bank to make a patient avail blood donation and many more such voluntary works. He had also kept a tab whether the heart patients got the proper treatment or not. He was also asking about health condition of many patients. Interestingly, the hospital staff also were paying heed to whatever Gopal sir was asking for.

We tracked him as he went outside. After sometime we noticed that he was in police uniform and was sitting on a chair at the Police Outpost (Fandi) of SCB Medical College and hospital. He was busy writing some really important things. Meanwhile he was also attending to a number of calls that were frequently coming. And all these calls were about patients, treatment and other medical services related.

We approached him and asked for his reaction in the matter of his selfless noble work that he has been providing towards the patients. Initially, he did not agree, but as we insisted the gentleman talked to us.

We came to know that he is from Niali area of Cuttack. He remains busy helping patients at SCB Medical and so hardly get any time for his family. Often, he sacrifices his routine work of having food at time and sleeping at night since he remains busy with helping of patients. As if patients and their relatives are his family members.

According to him, if he would not give time, patients may get deprived of proper treatment. Due to his noble work many dying patients have got life by getting proper and timely treatment. And for this noble work, Gopal Das has been awarded from many organisations.

Patients and their relatives from all corners of the state are all praise for Gopal Das for his selfless service and help. And in return he gets blessings.
