Sensex opens lower at 64,937; Nifty below 19,300
At 9.16 a.m., the Nifty 50 index was up 0.29% at 19,322.70, while the S&P BSE Sensex rose 0.25% to 65,044.97.
New Delhi: Indian equity benchmark indices opened almost flat in the early trade on Monday. In the early, trade, the 30-share BSE Sensex begins with 50 points or 0.08 per cent to trade at 64,937, while the broader NSE Nifty opened at 0.12 per cent to trade at 19,289.35.
However, shortly after the opening the Nifty 50 and Sensex gained and crossed the 19,300 and 65,000 mark, respectively.

On the 30-share BSE index, HDFC Bank, L&T, Reliance, M&M, Tata Steel, Maruti and JSW Steel were among the top gainers. Meanwhile, HCL Tech, Asian Paints, Britannia, Bharti Airtel and Nestle India were among the top laggards.
