Stock Market today: Sensex below 71,400, Nifty trades near 21,500
By 11.00 am, the Sensex was down 44.22 points or 0.062 per cent per cent at 71,341.99, while, Nifty 50 was at 21,525.95 with a fall of 18.90 points or 0.088 per cent.
New Delhi: The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex equity indices opened in red on Wednesday. The NSE Nifty 50 opened lower by 15.55 points or 0.07% at 21,529.30, while the BSE Sensex was down just 3 points to 71,383.21 in early trade.
Meanwhile, the broader indices were trading in red with a fall in midcap and largecap stocks. Bank Nifty index opened lower at 47,073.85.

The major drags in the morning trade were BPCL, ONGC, NTPC, Coal India, and Axis Bank. Meanwhile, Cipla, HCL Technologies, AdPorts, HDFC Life, and SBI Life are the gainers.
